MBA Students Work on Solution to Sustainable Development

The first ever UNLEASH Innovation Lab was held in Denmark In August 2017, where 1,000 selected students and other participants gathered to co-create feasible solutions to reach the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals before 2030. As one of the academic partners, HKUST nominated two MBA students, Julian Wong and Yasir Naveed, to the program.

HKUST Ranks No. 1 in Hong Kong and 3rd in Asia

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is placed No. 1 in Hong Kong and climbing one place to3rd in Asia in the latest QS Asia University Rankings. This year’s ranking features over 400 universities and was compiled by assessing universities across 10 different indicators including the proportion of academic staff qualified to PhD level and the proportion of inbound and outbound exchange students at the university. Microsoft’s Executive Vice President for Artificial Intelligence and Research Dr Harry Shum Speaks on Artificial Intelligence at HKUST 25th Anniversary Distinguished Speakers Series

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the 25th Anniversary Distinguished Speakers Series today, featuring Dr Harry Shum, Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence and Research Group. The event was well received by students, faculty members and guests from HKUST.

Speaking on “Realizing the Promise of Artificial Intelligence – moving from machine-centric to human-centric, from perception to cognition, and from rational to emotional”, Dr Shum shared Microsoft’s vision, efforts and tangible progress in accelerating artificial intelligence (AI).

HKUST Business School Named “School of the Year” by CEMS

The School of Business and Management at the HKUST Business School has earned the “CEMS School of the Year” title, becoming the first Asian school to receive this international honor.

The HKUST Business School, in its third year of offering the program, has been chosen the CEMS School of the Year, and its elective course “Global Macroeconomics” was also named as one of the three CEMS Courses of the Year.

The MBA Program of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) has been ranked 1st in Asia Pacific and 14th globally by the Financial Times. This is the seventh consecutive year that HKUST has been ranked in the Top 15 globally; during this period, no other MBA program in the Asian-Pacific region has been ranked in the top 15 in consecutive years. Additionally, this marks the sixth time in the last seven years that the HKUST MBA Program has been ranked as the best in Asia Pacific.
